Liverpool 3 – Tottenham 0

Liverpool were lucky to win the game let alone win 3-0. It was just not Spurs’ day. Tottenham had a clear game plan in mind : leaving Mido on the bench, and setting a defensive stall trying to counter attack with Keane and Defoe.

Their tactics were working well but they just failed to make their chances count and Liverpool made them pay. We could feel the frustration from the Spurs fan sitting next to our table when Jenas missed an open goal. Liverpool scored soon after and he left. Poor guy.

Liverpool verdict : They played well but seem to have problems finding a way past a resolute Tottenham in the first half. Wonder how they’ll cope with the likes of Bolton next week and Blackburn the week after the next. Nonetheless the thumping 2nd goal by Kuyt (pronounced ‘cout’) and another Riise special for the 3rd were pure class.

Man of the match : Luis Garcia. The game was crying out for the likes of him when the scores were deadlocked at 0-0. He came on only after they scored and did superbly with the little time on the pitch he had. His contributions include 2 assists.

Moan of the match : Gerrard and Bellamy seem to hit the post more than score this season. Which is harder?? 😕

Food watch : Haven’t had the nasi lemak ayam at USJ9 mamak for a long time and it was as good as ever. Thinking about dinner there again tomorrow!

Speaking of food, we went for lunch at Char Chan Teng in 1U yesterday. HK food is just gross. In the picture below, we have ‘fruity’ mashed potato. Yes you heard me right. It is mango and strawberry flavoured mashed potato. Sherlyn ordered it and personally I think it’s disgusting.
